Today, we’re reviewing the HONOR Choice Earbuds X5 Pro wireless headphones. This model boasts an ergonomic design featuring soft silicone earbuds that provide a comfortable fit for any ear size and shape, ensuring no discomfort during extended wear. Weighing just 5.5 grams and designed to stay securely in the ear, even during active movements, they are perfect for sports and running activities. The headphones and case are finished in glossy plastic, available in black or white, with the white version showing fewer fingerprints.
These headphones utilize the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol with minimal playback delay, ensuring seamless video watching and gaming experiences. Additionally, they incorporate Multipoint functionality, allowing simultaneous Bluetooth connections to two devices. This feature enables users to connect the headphones to two audio sources simultaneously and effortlessly switch between them.
The headphones feature 12-millimeter speakers with a polymer composite diaphragm, delivering clear rhythms and deep bass across all music genres. With Hi-Res Audio certification and support for the advanced LDAC codec, they offer detailed sound reproduction. Capable of playing music in the range of 20 to 40,000 hertz, they maintain excellent sound quality throughout.
The headphones stand out with their 3-microphone system, enhancing noise reduction during calls. Their adaptive and active noise cancellation capabilities reach up to 46 decibels. They seamlessly adjust to environmental changes, ensuring consistent high sound quality. Offering three modes – “Cozy,” “Moderate,” and “Ultra” – users can select the ideal level of noise cancellation. Moreover, they include a “Transparency” mode that completely disables noise cancellation.
The headphones boast an impressive battery life of up to 9 hours, which extends to 40 hours with the charging case. Charging takes just over an hour. Additionally, they come with a capacitive sensor that automatically pauses playback when the headphones are removed from the ear, preserving battery life and ensuring you don’t miss anything while enjoying music or audiobooks.
The case features a charging indicator, and the headphones charge through a Type-C port located at the bottom of the case. Adjacent to the port is a small button that activates pairing mode when held for 3 seconds. Pressing it for 10 seconds resets the device to factory settings.
The case does not feature a touch sensor panel; instead, control is managed by pressing the sides of the earbuds. For incoming calls, a single press answers the call, while a long press declines. During calls, a single press ends the call. A long press toggles between noise cancellation modes, transparency, and disables both modes. Regrettably, volume control is not available.
To access more settings, the Honor Al Space app offers mode-switching functions, as well as battery level control and firmware updates.
The package includes a case, headphones, 2 additional ear tips and documentation. A charging cable is not included in the package.
